The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) plans to collaborate with the National Cancer Institute on educational outreach programs aimed at informing the clinical lab community about proteomics standards and new technological advances in the field, according to AACC.

Under a memorandum of understanding, AACC will help NCI's Clinical Proteomics Technologies for Cancer program in its efforts to connect lab workers with biologists and clinicians to speed development, optimization, and standards for using proteomics to detect cancer-relevant proteins/peptides in clinical specimens, AACC said.

AACC said that the memorandum provides a framework for pursuing collaborations and educational events covering clinical proteomics research and the need for standards, best practices, community reagents, and data policies.
