Job description The Director of Process Development and Engineering will lead a team of engineering, biochemical and scientific professionals focused on process optimization of the company’s existing demonstration facility and development of next generation process technology to support future expansion.​ Position will report to the Vice President of Process Development and Engineering.​ Key functions will include the identification, implementation and optimization of biological reactor technology, biomass harvesting systems, and other upstream subsystems.​ Job Responsibilities: · Direct and lead process development and engineering teams in major projects.​ · Identify and implement primary processes and technology at the pilot plant level.​ · Optimize key processes and explore key areas for process improvement.​ · Work as part of company’s leadership team in the conceptualization and implementation of new process and product technology.​ · Serve as the company’s chief Process Development-Project Manager with responsibility and oversight of critical, cross functional projects.​ · Bachelors/​Masters in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with 10 to 15 years of experience.​ PhD in Chemical Engineering a strong plus.​
Qualification · Proven track record and significant experience in process development, process engineering and project management.​ · Strong knowledge of scale up-to-commercialization and commercial scale system integration processes.​ · High level of experience in concept, design, build and startup of pilot and commercial scale production processes.​ · Flexibility in working across functional and technical lines including chemical process engineering, biological systems, biochemical processes and high volume water systems.​ · High level of comfort in working in a pre-commercial setting that requires entrepreneurial and flexible approaches in an ever-changing environment.​ · Experience in transferring process technology from the R&D to pilot to commercial scales.​
