| Job description | The Director of Process Development and Engineering will lead a team of engineering, biochemical and scientific professionals focused on process optimization of the company’s existing demonstration facility and development of next generation process technology to support future expansion. Position will report to the Vice President of Process Development and Engineering. Key functions will include the identification, implementation and optimization of biological reactor technology, biomass harvesting systems, and other upstream subsystems. Job Responsibilities: · Direct and lead process development and engineering teams in major projects. · Identify and implement primary processes and technology at the pilot plant level. · Optimize key processes and explore key areas for process improvement. · Work as part of company’s leadership team in the conceptualization and implementation of new process and product technology. · Serve as the company’s chief Process Development-Project Manager with responsibility and oversight of critical, cross functional projects. · Bachelors/Masters in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with 10 to 15 years of experience. PhD in Chemical Engineering a strong plus. | |
| Qualification | · Proven track record and significant experience in process development, process engineering and project management. · Strong knowledge of scale up-to-commercialization and commercial scale system integration processes. · High level of experience in concept, design, build and startup of pilot and commercial scale production processes. · Flexibility in working across functional and technical lines including chemical process engineering, biological systems, biochemical processes and high volume water systems. · High level of comfort in working in a pre-commercial setting that requires entrepreneurial and flexible approaches in an ever-changing environment. · Experience in transferring process technology from the R&D to pilot to commercial scales. | |
